Cash and informal payment screenshots do not survive an audit or a move-out fight. Kyasti attaches every payment to a stay.
Open Tenant payments
Payments → Tenant payments starts on Pending. Two cards show how much is pending and how much is overdue. Filter by type (rent, deposit, charge, late fee) or search tenant and reference.
A typical hostel stay creates more than one line:
- Rent for the billing period (for example 15 Aug → 15 Sept).
- Security deposit due before move-in.
- Extra charges or late fees when you configure them.
Each row shows the tenant, room and building, amount, due date, and status. Mark paid is the action when money has landed — online, cash, or bank. You can also Record payment from the header when you are logging a collection yourself.
What tenants see
Tenants pay from their portal against the same dues. You are not reconciling a random payment SMS to a name in a group chat. Overview’s Still to collect is this pending list, rolled up.
Settings that make collections consistent
Under Settings you set pricing, extra charges, booking rules and payment collection (online checkout where enabled). Get those right once; every new booking inherits the same rent cycle.
